In today's modernized and digitized era, social media has changed the landscape of political communications all over the world. In Indonesia too, social media has proved to be a powerful tool, assisting Jokowi-Ahok in winning the 2012 Jakarta gubernatorial election. This was, of course, supported by a strong youth participation.
In the road to the 2014 general elections, can social media work its magic again? What kind of digital communication is the right communication to attract young voters, especially first-time voters?
In an effort to provide some answers, Ayo Vote will hold a discussion entitled "Digital Communications Ahead of the 2014 General Elections."
Moderated by Dondi Hananto who is the founder of Kinara Indonesia, as well as a co-founder of Wujudkan.com and Comma Indonesia, this discussion will feature a list of panelists who are experts in their respective areas.
The panelists include: Arief Rakhmadani, director of strategy at XM Gravity; Iman Sjafei, Digital and Social Media Planner at Fastcomm; Yudha Permana, Jakarta deputy governor staff; and Christian Sugiono, CEO of MBDC Media.
